Getting Started: Pocket PC Sync Installation Instructions
Pocket PC Sync System requirements:
- Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
- Microsoft ActiveSync 3.0 or greater
- Pocket PC (Windows CE 3.0) with MIPS, SH3, ARM, or XScale processor
- 75 MB of hard disk space
- 128 MB of RAM
- Kerberos for Windows
Installing Pocket PC Sync for Windows
Note: If a previous version of CorporateSync is installed on the computer, you must uninstall it before installing CorporateSync 3.0.7. If CorporateSync 2.1.1 or lower is installed, you must also uninstall the Oracle Claendar Sync Helper Files utility from the user's mobile device.
- Download
sundial-pocketpc-101.exe to your desktop.
- Log on the user's computer as an Administrator with
the user's credentials.
- Make sure ActiveSync is installed.
- Double-click sundial-pocketpc-101.exe on your desktop to run the installation program and follow the onscreen InstallShield instructions.
- Choose an installation type. If you choose Custom,
there is no difference between "This feature
will be installed on local hard drive" and "This
feature, and all subfeatures, will be installed on
local hard drive". Select the conduits you want
to install.
- Enter the user name and password (if prompted). The calendar server and node ID
are pre-configured for you.
- Follow the rest of the onscreen instructions to
complete the installation.
- After you have installed the application, be sure
to read the ReadMe file.
Post-Installation Steps
Establishing an ActiveSync partnership
To synchronize your mobile device Entries with the Oracle Calendar server, you must first establish an ActiveSync partnership that uses Oracle CorporateSync to communicate with the calendar server. The default partnership on your device is with Microsoft Outlook®.
To establish a partnership:
- Disconnect your device's cradle from PC.
- Click File > Delete Partnership.
- Reconnect your device's cradle to your PC. The ActiveSync Partnership Wizard starts automatically.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and select Oracle
CorporateTime as your plug-in for Calendar, Tasks
and Contacts.
Note: If you have a previous version of CorporateSync, you must delete your old partnership and recreate the same partnership with the Oracle CorporateTime Contacts conduit active in order to synchronize Contacts.
Synchronizing your mobile device for the first time
- Place your Pocket PC in its cradle.
- Open Microsoft ActiveSync if it does not open automatically.
- Click Sync if synchronization is not automatically initiated.
